Before the first OinoKritika, in 2007

Had preceded a series of great wine tastings.

 that  we organized (Miden Agan),In the Grand Arsenali (CAM) in order to gradually upgrade the wine tasting culture in Chania.

The beginning was in 2002, when we celebrated the first birthday of Miden  Agan, tasting the wines of Tselepos Estate from the Peloponnese. The press release of that event said:

“On Friday 22/11/2002 The wine cellar” Miden agan “, on the occasion of its first birthday, held in the Grand Arsenali the first official wine tasting organized, having as its guest, one of the most important wine producers from the The Peloponnese, Yiannis Tselepos.

During the tasting, four wines were tested, two whites a) Moschofilero Mantineia, B) Chardonnay barrel and two red wines a) Nemea Agiorgitiko, and b) the Tselepos Εstate Cabernet/Merlot, all produced by Yiannis Tselepos, which Offered Miden  Agan.

They were analysed by the producer himself who is an oenologist the combination of variety, soil, climate, and the ecosystem in which the vineyard belongs and also became special reference to the problems of the Greek vineyard but also to the organic Cultivation.

In each wine variety that was tested on that night, an analysis of the method of vinification was given, and instructions for combining the corresponding wine with food or dessert were provided, based on the relationships of acidity, sweetness and roughness (tannins) by a special sommelier. The event was closed with buffet delicacies which were offered by “Miden Agan” and whose care and responsibility had “Spitiko”. Guests were oenologists, producers who make or plan winemaking – bottling, people who love quality wine, good customers and partners of Miden Agan. The whole event was crowned with total success.

Therefore, the Miden Agan promises this tasting made with every unselfishness to celebrate its first birthday, to be the forerunner of a series of other such quality events, dedicated to good wine.
